This was the first of three sermon series that was very significant in the life of Highland Colony Baptist Church. Just who is the church? That's the question asked in the message by Dr. Jay Richardson.

Each Sunday our pastor encourages us to speak a good word for Jesus and to speak a good word for Highland Colony.We've heard many stories of how you have done just that and they are thrilling. Just about everyone who has joined HCBC over the past year has a story to tell about of you who spoke a "good word."

 

Perhaps the most noticible effect of your "good words" is the increse in attendance we are experiencing at Highland Colony. Last Sunday we had an attendance of 414...that is obviously a record. Not only is that a record and the first time the church ever cracked 400, it also pushes our average attendance so far in 2006 over 350. Since we're spread into two services and sunday schools, sometimes is hard to notice the growth...just look in the parking lot. There were 30 cars parked on the grass or in non-spots on Sunday (parking is on the way).

 

It so exciting to be part of a growing church! But it's not just about being able to report great numbers. It's in realizing that each number represents someone taking a step in thier spiritual journey. That's exciting.
